Etsy fees in 2026

Every Etsy sale carries three fees, and some orders carry more. The calculator applies each of these to your order.

  • Listing fee: $0.20 USD per listing, charged again for each item when a listing with more than one in stock sells.
  • Transaction fee: 6.5% of the item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge.
  • Payment processing fee: a percentage of the full amount the buyer pays plus a fixed fee. In the US it is 3% plus $0.25. Elsewhere it depends on where your bank account is.
  • Offsite Ads fee: 15% of the order, or 12% for shops with over $10,000 in yearly sales, only on orders that came from Etsy's ads on other websites. Capped at $100 per order.
  • Regulatory operating fee: a small percentage of item price plus shipping for sellers in a few countries, from 0.05% in India to 1.97% in Hungary.
  • Currency conversion fee: 2.5% when you list in a different currency from your payment account.

Optional costs such as Etsy Ads, Etsy Plus and shipping labels bought on Etsy are not fees on the sale, so enter labels under your costs.

Example: a $25 item with $5 shipping

A US shop sells one $25 item and charges $5 for shipping, so the order total is $30.

Listing fee $0.20 Transaction fee 6.5% × $30 = $1.95 Payment processing 3% × $30 + $0.25 = $1.15 Total Etsy fees $3.30 (11.0%) Payout $30 − $3.30 = $26.70

If the item costs $6 to make and the label and packaging cost $4.50, the profit is $16.20, a 54% margin. If the same order came through Offsite Ads at 15%, another $4.50 comes off and the profit drops to $11.70.

Etsy fees by country

The payment processing fee and the regulatory operating fee depend on the country of your bank account. These are the main markets. The calculator's country list covers every country Etsy pays out to.

A few countries also have a deposit fee when a payout is small, for example 42 TRY in Türkiye on deposits under 600 TRY, or 40 MXN in Mexico on deposits under 2,000 MXN. It is charged per deposit, not per order, so the calculator leaves it out.

Pricing so fees don't eat your profit

  • Price from the profit you want. Enter it under Pricing goal and the calculator gives the item price that covers your costs and every fee.
  • Count shipping as part of the sale. Etsy charges fees on shipping too, so free shipping built into the price costs the same in fees.
  • Leave room for Offsite Ads. If your shop takes part, a share of orders will carry an extra 15% or 12%. Check that those orders still make money.
  • Watch small orders. The fixed fees weigh more on cheap items. A $3 item pays the same $0.45 in fixed fees as a $300 one.

Questions

How much does Etsy take per sale?

For a US seller, Etsy keeps a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price and shipping, a payment processing fee of 3% plus $0.25, and a $0.20 listing fee for each item sold. On a $25 item with $5 shipping that comes to $3.30, about 11% of the order. If the sale came through Offsite Ads, add 15% or 12% more.

Does Etsy charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the payment processing fee both apply to the shipping you charge the buyer. Free shipping built into the item price costs the same in fees as shipping charged separately.

What is the Etsy Offsite Ads fee?

When a buyer clicks one of Etsy's ads on another website and buys from your shop within 30 days, Etsy charges 15% of the order total. Shops with more than $10,000 in sales over the past 365 days pay 12% and cannot opt out. The fee is capped at $100 per order.

Does Etsy charge fees on sales tax?

US sellers don't pay the transaction fee on sales tax, but the payment processing fee is calculated on the full amount the buyer pays, including tax. Enter the sales tax rate under Advanced to include it.

Are Etsy fees different outside the US?

Yes. Payment processing ranges from 3% to 6.5% plus a fixed fee, depending on where your bank account is. Sellers in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, India, Türkiye, Canada and Vietnam also pay a regulatory operating fee. If you list in a currency other than your bank account's, Etsy adds a 2.5% currency conversion fee.

What fees apply to digital downloads?

The same fees as physical items, minus anything tied to shipping: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing. On an $8 printable sold by a US shop, the fees come to $1.21.
